baseplot__ is a visual network and spatial agency setup by Nicholas Ng. He is a visual artist, designer, an architect in training, and an avid volunteer.
Nicholas received his Master of Architecture degree from the Boston Architecture College in Boston, MA. During his years in Boston, he has worked at award winning firms, including Signer Harris Architects (currently part of Perkins + Wills, Boston), Koetter Kim & Associates and Choi + Shine Architects. Prior to that, Nicholas graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Graphic Design) from the Corcoran College of Art and Design. He is also the recipient of awards recognizing his talents. In 2003, his editorial design for the AIGA Boston Chapter Annual Report won the BoNE (Best of New England) Show Award and the HOW Magazine Annual Merit Award. The piece for AIGA Boston was also featured in Graphic Design USA. The Corcoran College also awarded him the 2003 PSA Creative Award for his thesis project.
Nicholas currently volunteers for EPIC Homes, a social enterprise that builds home for the orang asli (indigenous people) of Peninsular Malaysia. He is also the co-founder of VERNADOC Malaysia, where the troop documents vernacular and heritage buildings around the world. The works are on display here.
When not designing buildings and doodling around, Nicholas can be found taking photographs in exotic places, or sipping a cup of coffee at your local café.
